? Design of HVDC (Bi-polar, Uni-Polar) transmission systems and Multi-terminal HVDC transmission networks. ? Novel converter configuration for HVDC transmission systems, Fault Identification, Monitoring and Control Strategies includes PWM modulation. ? Investigation for novel topologies of multiphase motor drives, multiphase inverter, multiphase-multilevel inverter with focusing space vector techniques for modeling and dynamic control. ? Controlling aspect of ac drives in particular, synchronous reference frame, stationary reference frame and direct torque controlling techniques. ? Design and analysis of conventional inverter, multilevel inverters, stacked multi-cell inverter for reduction of harmonics and fundamental improvement with PWM techniques. ? Design and analysis of ac/dc converter and high voltage dc-dc converter topologies. Power factor correction techniques for ac-dc converters, Alternative topologies for matrix converter, switch reduction techniques. ? Design and analysis
Achievements: ? Selected as a Nominee for “SD award for Contribution to Power Electronics 2006”, Soft Disk Magazine, Bhopal, India. ? Obtained “S” grade in M.Tech. Project for Hardware Implementation in DSP TMS320LF2407. ? Selected to pursue Ph.D. in Power Electronics with MHRD (India) Full Scholarship, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT-Madras 2007. ? Selected to pursue Ph.D. in Power Electronics with MIUR-Ministry for University Research, Government of Italy Comprehensive Full Scholarship, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Bologna, Italy (2009-2011) with the merit of first rank in Ph.D competition 2009 by securing 110/120 marks.
