In order to search for a suitable anode with lower oxygen evolution reactio (OER) potential and corrosion rate for zinc electrowinning, the influence of alloying elements and microstructure on the properties of lead anodes for Zinc electrowinning have been reviewed and summarized. The results pointed the advantages and disadvantages of the lead alloy anodes and the new type anodes used were reviewed by the preparation technology, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, electrocatalytic activity and so on.
